The Lewis-Palmer Boys Tennis program has placed and has been considered among the top high school tennis programs for many years. Success is however not to be viewed as simply the number of wins, losses, placements, trophies and titles. There is nothing negative about winning. When seen in the context of a way of measuring our progress and a way of meeting the goals we set before us. We play not only to win but also to learn about the game, ourselves and improve at both. It does become negative when it becomes winning at any cost. All the titles cannot supplant a person of good character. The Lewis-Palmer tennis team has long held a team philosophy of honor and good sportsmanship always comes first. During each season each player will take their own personal journey, both alone and together as a team. Can each of us improve not only as a player on the tennis court but as a teammate and a person off the court. It is stressed to recognize that in order to become better than someone else, we must first become better than ourselves. Can the skills we learn on court have value and transfer both into the classroom and throughout our daily life.
